About me

Krystal is a certified children’s yoga teacher through Kidding Around Yoga, and working towards a DONA certification as a postpartum doula; with extensive knowledge and experience in mental health, child development and special education.  As a resident of Mesa for 10 years, she has spent 6 plus years working with the culturally diverse population of the east and west valley of Arizona.  Krystal decided to make the move from children’s mental health to teaching children’s Yoga and supporting mothers during postpartum, in efforts to bring peace, compassion and happiness to the families of her community.

What is a Post Partum Doula?

Post Partum Doula provides non medical care to the mother, as well as the whole family through the transition into new parenthood, or parenthood with a new addition.  Doulas help learn about breastfeeding, allow time for the mother and family to bond, help siblings to accept and cope with new baby, help with light meal preparation and housecleaning, assess for perinatal mental health, provide education on infant development, diapering and feeding, help create a post partum plan, support and listen, as well as refer for other services if needed.

Children benefit from yoga, even more than adults do.  Children can learn body awareness, learn to use their bodies in a healthy way, manage stress through breathing and meditation.  They will increase self confidence and build a positive self image.  Feel apart of a healthy, non-competitive group and learn healthy coping skills.
